Ailsa asks us to do the impossible today… me gaudy? You can’t fit us in the same town, never mind the same post. But… I have to try, do I not? So… let me put it this way… every time I hear the word I think of Gaudí, Antoni Gaudí i Cornet, to be more exact. Now there’s a man who did a bit of gaudy! Only problem… as I’ve never set foot in Barcelona I don’t have any photos to show you… so, if you’re so inclined then stick his name in a search engine and have a look-see…
But… I waffle again, gaudy is not easy… so, just to be on the safe side I checked that I understood correctly… and, indeed… by the definition below I know I’m not going to fit in the same post…
Gaudy
Adjective – Extravagantly bright or showy, typically so as to be tasteless.
Synonyms – garish, loud, showy, tawdry, flashy…
I am, however, reminded of a little incident at last year’s Tall Ships. We were passing all the stalls set up specifically to extract as many Euro’s from the pockets of the poor, and not so poor, when I spotted one of the age-old ploys used so successfully to separate man from his money. Yes, you guessed…
My GLW couldn’t resist… she had to dare me to take a photograph or two… that in turn caused the expression on the face of the police fella who found it rather entertaining… well, at least I induced a smile with my attempts at discretion. You see… even when trying to sneak pictures of something that may be construed to be a tad gaudy I have difficulty… oh well, we can’t all be perfect!
Love this, perfect for the theme.

Thanks… yes, I have been accused of taking the photos more out of being a perve than for artistic merit!! 🙂

I must remember to PHOTOGRAPH Mr Policeman next time I’m pulled over. Hopefully it’ll make him smile too. What do you think?

I’m sure your sweet charm alone will be enough to disarm Mr Policeman… failing that… suggest a photo… 😛
