Yep… there was an announcement on some weather feed on one of the radio stations usually on the go in the house. Me, I’ve got the radio on the closest thing to rock radio available here in Ireland. NOVA… they know how to drive out the winter blues. OK… they know how to try.
Then, just when I’m fully strumming along to a 70′s or 80′s classic they play grunge, or even worse… something awfully noisy spawned by those uncouth’s form the greater Manchester area. OK, I’ll not complain too much… generally they do get the blues shifted… maybe, it they played more real blues they get even more blues shifted. I hope you get my drift… no, not snow drift.
So, back to the weather stat overheard. Saturday was officially the coldest day in Ireland since Christmas Day 2010. (Click here to see what it looked like… ) That day was cold. Believe me… I was outside doing the roasts on the BBQ. Yes, it was so cold on the day it wasn’t possible to call what I was doing a braai. Braai’s are reserved for above zero temperatures!
What has this to do with Saturday’s cold? Seems I have a thing for being out on the coldest days. I chose to go for a walk… yep, out in the chill. All the while there were bits of white stuff drifting downward. Not flakes… more like little icicles… gently reaching for mother earth’s cold embrace.
Proof that spring has officially been declared AWOL. Missing… gone… deserted us. Again! Oh well… maybe the blues will eventually drive away the winter’s blues! We can only hope… can’t we?
A vaguely surreal, abstract of the flakes falling onto the pond… my unsteady hand adding the state of confusion… enjoy your week, don’t do what I wouldn’t!

Hang in there … it can’t be long now.
Warm beaches and cold beer are becoming soooo inviting!!
I LOVE the photo!!! I would hang that in my living room!
Touch of the Monet’s there? Haha…
