Batten Down the Hatches

We’re bracing for the storm… well, its hitting us about now at publish time… so, I’ve done the clever thing and pre-loaded… preempting the power outages… 😉 Actually… I have so much material to get through after this weekend that I don’t know where to begin…

So… to give you a taster… I walked the next section of the Royal Canal… just over 13 miles on Saturday… had the absolute pleasure of spending another night on a barge… 4E, this time. Thanks to JT and son BT… thanks for your hospitality, friendship and willingness to share your special story with a blow-in, plastic Paddy 😛

Then… Sunday dawns… well, no dawn there… the day arrives… wet, windy and giving advanced notice of the impending lashing the western extremities of Europe are about to be subjected to.

So… please let me recover from the walk… and getting back to NKCC to see senior son get a good 40 not out again…

I’m rather fortunate to have had a rather unique, special weekend! I’ll give you a tiny glimpse of things to come… and yes, it is a kitten on the couch! A stray rescued by J&B… 😉

What a life... pleasure on the Royal... enchanting!!

PS: – I use the word ‘enchanting’… courtesy of a kind gent I met while on 4E…

PSS: – Monday… again… I hope the wind treats you kindly… enjoy your week. may the sun shine for You! 😉

PSSS: – The SA lads started well… any win is a good start! Let’s hope… 😉

I had a cat that looked almost like that… her name was Syd! 🙂
It was nerve wracking watching the game, but we won in the end.
Hope your week is not as battering as the storm.

I agree with you. In the World Cup any win is good enough. Hope the storm wasn’t too bad
