How The Others Live

A day or so ago I showed you the lions of Lyons Estate. That pic included a little of one of the gatehouse. Small, humble dwellings. Now, how about a look at the manor house? If you want to look at who knew who and who shot who then do click here to visit the good old Wiki-P. Fancy a bit of clipped box? Or a fountain or two? Rigid formal garden or five? Well, you’ve come to the right place!

The restored Georgian House at the Lyons Estate... mmmmm, splendid to say the least! Co Kildare, Ireland

Aha… the weekly ditty’s not been forgotten!!

End of WW14

In this week we again celebrated the annual fool’s day
The sun shone brightly, enticing happy folk out to play
But I promise, the great weather did not for long stay
Fool’s sunshine was again by rain clouds driven away

Not a bother, later in the week we celebrated in style
Family gathered, joked, laughed, tarried a wee while
Our lady of the house was seen with ear to ear smile
Not even blustery weather could our fine humour rile

We threw a few chops and ribs on the braai’s heat
It’s always a pleasure for us to share the good treat
Some salad, a spud or two and the nicely done meat
More fun at the weekend, the festivities we’ll repeat!
