The End of WW17

There could well be some who’ve noticed my slip
Last week, into the ditty bank I didn’t manage to dip

So, this time I’ll have to give you verse twice as long
Else you’ll think of launching into long, lamenting song

As we get underway I’ll suggest you take another sip
While I battle with words, here a clip and there a snip

Easter’s long weekend fling has long come and gone
Now we’re waiting for workweek seventeen’s short one

Let’s hope last week’s ditty miss was just a mere blip
Resting from rhyme, allowing time to sharpen writing tip

Spring’s rays conjure visions of leisurely weekend fun
Another weekend we’ll be able to bask in glorious sun

Maybe we’ll have the pleasure of woolly jumpers to strip
As winter seems finally to be losing it last-blast icy grip

Here’s to raising high a glass of the best bubbly or wine
Yes, after another week we’re all going to be just fine!!

Daffs and clouds! Kilcock spring with lenticular clouds stacked high...
