Need a Lift?

I was looking through the archives at what mischief I was getting at 2 years ago. On 2 September 2012 I completed my Grand Canal challenge, reaching the Shannon. That was a successful walk and altogether we must have raised about €1300 for Midlands Simon. I won’t be lying if I say I’ve not been itching to do another canal walk but time and circumstance haven’t really been in my favour. So, what does one do when one is a tad down? Get a lift, that’s what.  Here’s an old derrick seen at the end of the Grand Canal at Shannon Harbour. If you look closely at the boom you’ll see it boasting a 4 ton lifting capacity… now that’s some lift for one day, won’t you say?

You know, it’s Simon Week at the end of this month… I’m wondering about doing something…
