Yes… fortunately it’s Monday again! The happy beginnings of a bright new week. You may raise an eyebrow at my take how fortunate it is that Monday has rolled around but let me explain. The weather was by no means great. Cool and grey… that’s about how I’d describe it. Apparently we’re having the tail end effects of that mean weather system that’s been going about its damage in the North Atlantic.
So, as the greyness has a way of keeping me indoors I spent far too much time watching sport on TV. The RWC… SA are progressing quite nicely, thank you. Then there was the drama of the President’s Cup. For a change the Internationals gave the US lads a scare. A few of the Saffers on that team did exceptionally well. Pity they didn’t win all their matches as then we would have won the cup.
Onto cricket! That, as some of you may know, is the mainstay sport in this domain. South Africa have got their long tour in India off to a great start. Yesterday’s first 50 overs game was a close affair but our lads held their nerve to win. You’ll have to agree, 601 scored by both teams and SA win by 5 runs must be a good game!
Anyway… I waffle… not only did I watch sport… I also painted and wrote a bit. But, and here’s the big but… I did very little to burn off a calorie or seven. Mind you… walking and photography are my sports so I don’t think I could claim to burn too many… even when I take a few hundred snaps in one day. So… as photography is my sport I’ll show you something I took when last walking in the sunshine… the buildings in the autumn sunshine… St Patrick’s College, Maynooth, Ireland.
