Waves!

This week the challenge set by Ailsa is an interesting one. Waves! Mostly though, what gets me most is that the good lady admits to having her traditional New Years day swim in the waves of the Irish Sea.

Mad? Winter? Daft? Not well?

These are all thoughts that popped into my mind when I read about her madness. So, here’s a photo I took when I last saw the angry Irish Sea… the angry Irish Sea hammering the Arklow Breakwater during Storm Desmond…

Waves... Storm Desmond hammering the Arklow Breakwater!

I was going to leave you with just one photo but as it’s so bland here’s another. One of the November storms that lashed the east coast. Yep, I know the waves aren’t that big but you can see how well the Great South Wall does it’s job! On the left, the Dublin Port Channel is flat calm yet in Dublin Bay the waves are rolling in unabated! Mind you, another reason for showing you the pic is the great air surfing by the seagulls! They sure know how to ride the airwaves!!

Poolbeg Lighthouse at the end of the Great South Wall... it sure does its job keeping out the ravages of the bay waves!
