A Moment in Time

Water will always fascinate me. The sound of it as it rushes over the canal’s lock gates or trickles gently along a little stream in the countryside. Or, when it crashes on the rocks at the seaside.

Sometimes though, the simple overflow of a fountain and trying to capture that moment in time when you manage to freeze the drops in suspension brings memories of other moments in time. I took this photo at the Irish War Memorial, a tribute to those who gave their lives in the two World Wars.

As I stood watching the drops falling I thought of the bloodshed man forces on his fellow man and wondered at how many moments in time when a life is ended unnecessarily we’ll still have to endure before this human race of ours learns…

A moment in time... individual drops curtain of water... reminders of moments when people lost their lives... the Irish War Memorial in Dublin.

Through it all, we still have water all around us. The water is a constant. Great photo!
