Life Imitates Art

I did a long winter’s evening lake patrol the other evening. It was one of those around zero Deg C, windless evenings where you don’t mind being out if you’re suitably dressed. I had the 170 – 500 lens fitted most of the day, for the fun of using a lens in total manual. After uploading a few hundred night photos I found this beauty.

The moment I spotted it I was reminded of the Monet Sunrise painting. So, when Cheri set this week’s challenge I knew Lady Serendipity had thrown me a winner, again. Of all the photos I took while doing my pond patrol this was the only one where I captured the red reflection as crisply. A few swans had just passed a minute or so before so there was still the slight ripple on the water when the car passed in the distance to supply the light…

Need the help of a car going by to give me a Monet moment! Life imitating art! FUN!!

Beautiful photo. Like the colors reflecting in the water. The swans are also a little pink.

Thanks… yes, light has a way of adding it’s own special character to any scene! 😉

  2. Such lovely colors. I, too, know the joy of being outside even when it’s cold and there are often amazing shots to be found.
