Day two and keeping the theme personal. One of the many advantages of being a member of large family is celebrating frequent birthdays throughout the year. Just yesterday we were part of the fun of GSK’s birthday disco. Yes, eight-year-old’s are having discos to celebrate their day. (The photo below is from another day…)
But… here’s a big but… tomorrow is my good lady’s day! As is the tradition in our household, we’ll be having a birthday braai. OK, I know… many of you will wonder. A braai is the South African word for doing meat over the coals. No, it’s not really a BBQ… there’s a mental shift that separates the two activities. I’m often heard to be explaining… one does burger patties, wieners or porkies on the BBQ and real meat, like steak or chicken or lamb cutlets or chops… or crayfish and prawns… oh, I’m getting ahead of myself, again!
So… as it’s my good lady’s day it’s also her choice of meat. Chicken and beef sosaties… skewers, for those of you wondering. So… to the good lady… may you have a day never to forget! Thank you for making all our lives so special!

So, is there actually a difference between the two? Either way, food is always a great way to celebrate with family, as is a disco on occasion! Nice you call her your good lady, not old lady 😉

It didn’t rain… fortunately! Just finished feeding the hungry hoard! Fortunately all my ducks fell into their line and all worked out well! 😉

As you said in your post that I’m quoting from… there are MANY clouds at this stage!! Mind you… I’ve rained wet often here while braaiing… only difference, it’s usually cold rain!!

That braai was good… however, looks like the rain is going to get the better of me today. Well, let’s hope the clouds drift away in a few hours… 50/ 50 chance? 🙄

Dankie dat jy ook inloer. Dis vir my, in dag twee van die A tot Z, wat so spesiaal is van die iedee. Ons maak nuwe vriende! Ek het in die laaste paar dae so veel lekker besoeke gahaad. En, om the dink… as daai dame daar in Perth nie vir die A tot Z iedee geval het nie dan sou ons nie nou gesels het nie!! Lekker braai daar waar die wind wes waai! 😉 (Hier het die braai kunde net verbeter… ons doen selfs die Kersfees vleis op die braai… reen, hael, sneew… whatever! 😀 )
