Spring Blues?

Is there such a thing as spring blues? Or even early summer blues?? Well… to be honest… I’m of the opinion that there is no difference between spring blues and winter blues. We’re having much longer days but mostly they’re grey. the temperature just doesn’t seem to want to climb out of the lower teens, Centigrade, that is.

No… it’s not only me. Butterflies only fly when it’s warm and bright enough and so far this year I don’t think I’ve seen more than three per day at our house. At this time of the year Small Tortoiseshells should be flitting about by the handful… so should Speckled Woods. However… it’s not all doom and gloom because at least there are plants that want to grow… like this little violet!

Dog violet or marsh violet? I don't know but at leat it's trying to say spring is in the air!

It broke 100 degrees Fahrenheit here today (Thursday). Summer has arrived in all its furry! But we’re used to it. But used to it or not… it’s still hot! And I’m crazy enough to like it!
