We have friends and family down south in Oz and SA. My good lady is forever telling me how cold they are all claiming to be now that winter has called around down in the southern hemisphere. However, we’re currently having our own share of winter here in Ireland! Cold rain… cold breezes… and the need for the odd fire, indoors! So… why not help the summer on just a tad? I mean… it’s almost the middle of the year and we’re still waiting for a proper summer!

I can’t believe the number of times I’ve had to turn on the heating this summer, how rubbish is that? Not that I’d mind if I was huddling up in front of an atmospheric fire like the one you have. Hunkering down next to a drab grey oil-filled radiator doesn’t evoke quite the same ambiance. 🙂

It’s all relative, isn’t it? To us in the southern hemisphere, this is COLD! But I do admit that when we have a sunny winter’s day it generally warms up beautifully to about 20 deg C (usually after a chilly 8 deg C start), which is really lovely. I would feel let down if I was that cold in summer!

Ek het nie ‘n kaggelvuurtjie nie, ek besit nie ‘n verwarmer of ‘n elektriese kombers nie, WANT ek woon op die Suidkus. Verlede nag het almal van ons onder TWEE duvets geslaap (weens ‘n gebrek aan komberse). Ek was nie beïndruk nie.
