Myth Becomes Reality!

So… for all of you who are still wondering about the tooth fairy, here’s a bit of advice. Stop wondering! Yes… I joke you not, the tooth fairy exists and I have proof! How… you may ask? Yesterday I had one of those rare visits… to the dentist, for an extraction. Yep, seems 50% of my remaining wisdom teeth needed to be out.

Well, judging by the pain I’d been suffering it was a good call to be rid of the offending grinder! So… there I lay, on the chair… at the mercy of the dentist. While we waited for the anaesthetic to do its job a thought struck… the WWW is shedding his baby teeth. Last week, he was telling me all about his financial gains.

The WWW showing off his best gummy bear sparkling smile... yes, the tooth fairy visits him often these days!

Yes, the tooth fairy seemed to have been rather generous so, I wondered aloud if the tooth fairy would pay me a visit. The dentist was quick to suggest that I should give it a try. Yes, it seems the tooth fairy was alive and well and more than happy to visit grownups too… just as long as they believe. So, there I was… presented with my prize after the offending extraction deed was done…

Believe it or not! There are tooth faries out there... hard at work!

I slipped the little envelope into my pocket… but not before the dentist suggested I have a look at the rear of the little parcel…

Yes... give it a try, you may be surprised... it does work!!

I tell you what… take my advice… you’ll realise it’s not a myth!! ( I must mention… the dentist and her staff did give me strange looks… I wonder why?)

Funny, I was having a conversation about the tooth fairy last night in work with a friend who’s Daughter has her first wobbly tooth. We were discussing the going rates.
When my girls were small the rate was 50p for a front tooth and £1 for a back tooth… With absolutely nothing at all for a filled tooth.
It would appear now that today’s little ones expect paper money for the first tooth because it’s special !!!

I remember your agony with the dentist!
Anyway, we were down with the little one’s again yesterday. They all wanted to know from granny… the tooth fairy in disguise, what I got for putting the little envelope under my pillow… €2, was the answer.
They weren’t impressed… they promptly informed me they’re on €5 a tooth!! Lucky little sods!! 😉

WWW looks just like my daughter — she is missing 4 teeth at the moment (and what a wonderful smile he has)! So good to hear the tooth fairy comes to adults too – wonder if she is as generous??
