The good lady and I have been chasing a butterfly species we’ve not recorded before. A week or so ago we spotted our first specimens but battled to get good photos. The Small Blue is Ireland’s smallest species and boy… are they active. They don’t want to sit… I don’t think they know their posing duties or responsibilities. That they are also scarce makes it more important to get photos to prove we’ve spotted the tiny creatures.
Frisky movers… hiding in the tall grass… all part of the fun! No… the frisky movers were the butterflies. However, we won… we got the photos to prove we were there!
