Yesterday, I had a conversation with myself. While listening to a Jim Croce compilation I’d bought at our local record store, Beat That, I read the Wiki-P bio. Needless to say, when one reads about the untimely deaths of artists one immediately wonders why? Why, just why are such greats not meant to live into their old age?
However, I don’t want to dwell on that part of the conversation I had with myself. I want to share a few thoughts about the other part of the conversation. Life is precious, be grateful for every minute you get and express your gratitude, to yourself and those around you!
I’m notorious for NOT making new year’s resolutions. I say, every year, that the only resolution I make is NOT to make any! However, my conversation with myself turned slightly philosophical. This year, God willing, I will do more with less, I will spend more time with family and friends but I will make more time for creativity!
Creativity will mean sploshing paint onto canvas… developing or improving recipes of dishes I want to share with my family… writing (and completing) many more short stories. The camera will work overtime, as always! However, I want to learn more about photograph and the manipulation of images, to add artistic value! Build a shed… using secondhand material and then experiment with vertical veggie planting in the warmth of the shed!
Basically, spend time outdoors during the daylight hours and use the dark hours more productively… phew, I’m worn-out just writing this… how am I gonna feel after achieving these goals for 2018 and beyond?? Who knows… but for starters… here’s a wee gallery of the last photos taken in 2017! FUN, yes… that will be a massive element of our lives. OK, conversation halted… for now!
I mentioned Jim Croce to begin with, why don’t I leave you with one of his songs? Powerful!
