So… we’ve endured a few days of cabin-fever. Two and a half days to be exact. Obviously, we’re not prepared for this dumping of snow in such a short period. To be honest, snow is a bit of a novelty in Ireland… maybe you get a foot of snow in the mountains… but to get a foot or more in 24 hours where we live at the coast is remarkable.
The Beast from the East and Storm Emma paired… with spectacular effect! But, by yesterday afternoon neighbours were helping each other. Shovelling snow? Me? Did I ever dream, in my wildest nightmares, that one day this lad from the African planes would have to shovel snow? No… never! Anyway… to breakout one needs to bend the back a bit. Here’s the result… the car is pointing in the right direction! (If you’re wondering, I didn’t do all that clearing… the whole estate helped!) So… what does one do when you’ve broken out? You go to the beach for a look-see!
And weren’t we lucky… the sun made an appearance for about five minutes… to throw a happy glow over the waves! See… when you breakout you see magic!
