It’s been quite awhile since I’ve shared anything about the Royal Canal with you. Mainly because we’ve moved away to the coast. However, the Royal Canal will always remain a special place for me. I found many moments of release along the towpath. I needed to get out of the house and in this way I discovered the canal.
I eventually walked the whole 146 Kms distance in a four-month period. Some days short sections, others up to 20 kms at a time. When I walked the last section I felt a strange vindication… yes, even while unemployed one can set personal challenges and strive to achieve something on a nonexistent budget… well, almost. So, for me, the Royal Canal will always remain a special favourite place! You can feel free to visit the two pages listed above in the links bar… a bit dated but still filled with pleasant memories. So, here on a happy Friday… I’ll leave you with a few reminders…
