The last Monday of July 2018. Where have seven months of this year disappeared to? What’s the old story… time waits for no man? Correct… mankind is on the treadmill and Father Time keeps tic-toc-ing along… at his own pace! Anyway… I have been off work for a month… trying to find perspective and find solutions to that never-ending story… food on the plate and a roof over our heads. Briefly, I need corrective surgery to fix issues with neck vertebrae… and we really don’t know when that’s going to happen. I’m “officially” disabled and not allowed to work… but writing isn’t work, is it?
Anyway… the only reason why I’m sharing this is so you know why I have a little more time for writing and blogging. I am no longer faced with the horrid daily commute I’ve been subjected to during the last 18 months or so. Actually, driving aggravated the neck condition to the extent that we had to make the decision to no longer drive. Where am I going with this? I’m working on short stories all the time but as of last week I’ve now taken to writing in Afrikaans as well.
Nellie Visagie, although not a creation of mine… has taken a liking to this blog. I posted my first instalment of my take on Hester’s challenge… and OH boy, has young Nellie been busy telling me her story! So… for the next few Wednesday’s I’ll be doing two posts per day. The usual English take on life, or whatever the wind blows in… and later in the day, around midday Irish time… a Nellie episode.
That should keep me well entertained! But… as today is Monday I’ll share a few sunset photos taken on Saturday. Rain has eventually arrived in Ireland so we’re very grateful but with rain comes clouds… or, must that be the other-way round? It matters little… with clouds and rain come special sunsets… so, here’s a wee gallery… just for you!
