Wordless Wednesday – Almost!

Two days… two posts with the word almost in the title. Why? Because this post was supposed to be short and sweet … but I can’t place the photo without asking the questions. Why are we attracted to things that link us with the past? The sight of a tall ship… or a steam train… or a vintage car or a 200-year-old building. Do we want a simpler life? The romance of days gone by?

The tall ship Phoenix called into Arklow for a few days… we all took many snaps… and oohed-and-aahed. So cool, so special… so would like to be going along for the ride. Well, would we? Hard work… hoisting sails and trimming rigging for a headwind… and rough seas. Anyway… the ship stirred interests and dreams… so, I’ll leave you with the questions and maybe even the glimmer of your own dreams…

PS – For the Afrikaans folk, wherever you may be… remember Nellie will make an appearance later today… around noon, Irish time! The English folk could attempt using an online translator… but I don’t recommend you believe everything you read on the internet!
