I took these photos quite some time ago. We often go down to the beach after the worst of the storm has passed. The wind is usually still churning up the already restless sea, so… the birds are on the lookout for bits of food… skimming close to the surface…
Occasionally I manage to get a bird hovering in the spray… or, so it looks! However, sometimes they pose just so for me… allowing a frozen moment… for posterity!
OK… you lot down in the southern hemisphere… I am dictating the terms. I’m claiming that today is Happy Spring Day here. Pity I have to inform you that you’ll now officially be going into autumn! Yep… put that in your pipe and smoke it! No arguments… if you celebrate spring day on the first of September then my logic, bent as it may be, tells me you should now be celebrating happy autumn day… meaning it is the first day of spring here! WHOOPPEE!! I’d suggest you pop out and tell the swallows, swifts and martins that they should get moving north… fast!
PS – Hold thumbs… today the laptop is going in for a bit of maintenance… after which the radio streaming software can be fully activated… and I can get on the internet air… to keep you endlessly entertained… well, at least for a few hours per day… golly, my knees are shaking… yet, I’m rather excited!
Really like the second image, a great capture!

I love that last shot. It is brilliant! Almost looks like it is on ice.

Autumn? A rumour only, heard of but never experienced. At the Southcoast we have two seasons only – high summer and easy winter.

Happy Spring Day, AJ!
But with a temperature of 33C in Pretoria today, we’re not quite buying your autumn story yet…
