Orion and the Dog Star

Orion and the Dog Star. Sounds great, does it not? Yep… I’m learning about the night sky all the time. Well, it seems here in Ireland the night sky is mostly clouded over but the pre-dawn sky usually reveals more of its secrets because the clouds have gone to bed. Lately we’ve had crisp, clear morning skies so yesterday I made a plan to capture the scene… including the plane photo bombing the picture!

The Dog Star is the one just above the tree line. Apparently it is the brightest star we humans see from Mother Earth… nice!!

      AaaHH thanks!! We’ve been fortunate the last few mornings… the photo was taken from the garden… not too far from the front door!! 😉
